The story of the farm began around the 14th century at the same time as the foundation of Castellina in Chianti itself.
The first written mention describes it as a "casa da signore" (nobleman's house), probably in reference to some rich families that lived here.
Over the centuries of sharecropping, a system of 'promiscuous' cultivation developed, mixing fruit trees, olive groves and vines - between which vegetables were grown and chickens, rabbits and pigs could develop.
In this way the hamlet of the farm was able to remain self-sufficient through time, thanks also to its own water source and an efficient system of mills Located at the foot of the valley along the stream.
All the apartments, which accommodate two or four persons, have lovely views over the vines. They have maintained their rustic character and the furniture combines comfort and elegance, many items being made for us by local craftsmen.
Each apartment has its own sitting-out area, with a table and garden chairs. Most have either an open fireplace or stove, and ali have centrai heating for cooler months.
The galley kitchen includes fridge, full-size cooker with four burners and oven, and comes fully equipped. All have comfortable, upholstered armchairs or sofas in the lounge, a dining table and dining chairs.
There is also:
- a lounge with library, satellite TV and wine bar;
- a mosaic-lined swimming pool with sun terraces;
- a barbecue and covered pergola with picnic table;
- a covered loggia, a public phone and a small laundry;
- golf, tennis, horse-riding and hot-air ballooning available nearby.
